Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Home-Reminders, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our service.

Service Description

Home-Reminders is an online home maintenance companion designed to help homeowners organize, track, and receive reminders for recurring maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, inspections, cleaning, servicing, and other routine upkeep.

Subscriptions and Billing

Home-Reminders offers a Free plan (including up to 3 active reminders), a Pro plan, and a Family plan. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe, until cancelled. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time through the app's Settings page, with changes taking effect according to your billing cycle. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Annual subscribers may cancel within three (3) business days of their purchase for a full refund; after that window, no refunds are issued for partial billing cycles. To request a cancellation or refund, contact us through the app's Settings page or by emailing info@home-reminders.com and we will process your request.

Intellectual Property and Ownership

All content on Home-Reminders — including the Home-Reminders name, logo, text, maintenance guides, articles, graphics, software code, page layouts, and the overall selection and arrangement of materials — is owned by Home-Reminders and protected by United States and international copyright and trademark laws.

You may access and use Home-Reminders for your personal, non-commercial household maintenance needs. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, scrape, frame, or otherwise exploit any content from the site without our prior written permission. References to third-party brands, manufacturers, or vendors are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only; nothing on this site implies endorsement unless expressly stated.

Any reminder names, notes, and other information you enter into your account remain yours. By using Home-Reminders, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and display that information solely as needed to operate the service for you.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your household information and for acting on maintenance reminders at your own discretion. Home-Reminders provides recommendations based on general industry guidelines and does not constitute professional advice.

Maintenance intervals and recommendations are based on generally accepted industry guidelines and manufacturer recommendations when available. Actual maintenance needs may vary depending on your home's equipment, usage, environmental conditions, and manufacturer specifications. Users should always consult their equipment manuals or qualified professionals when appropriate.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Home-Reminders to: (a) copy, scrape, or extract our content, data, or maintenance library for commercial use, resale, or redistribution; (b) create a competing product, dataset, or service using our content; (c) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the underlying code or systems; (d) interfere with the service's operation or overload it with automated requests; (e) use the service for any unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purpose; or (f) circumvent paywalls, plan limits, or access controls. Violations may result in account termination and may be subject to legal action.

Limitation of Liability

Home-Reminders is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for any damages resulting from failure to perform maintenance tasks, inaccurate reminders, or service interruptions. You are solely responsible for maintaining your home and equipment.

While Home-Reminders strives to deliver reminders reliably and on time, reminder delivery may occasionally be delayed or interrupted due to internet connectivity, email providers, third-party services, system maintenance, or other technical factors beyond our control. Users remain responsible for maintaining their homes and equipment.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of Home-Reminders are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussions first. Any unresolved dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration administered in Ohio. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act or other applicable consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived by agreement.
